Oracle Card Readings

Oracle & Tarot Card Readings

Introduction: How I came across this field

As an addition to this blog,  I'll be talking about Oracle Card or Tarot Card Readings.
Truth be told, I've only delved into this field very recently. I first discovered it back when I studied in Perth, Australia several years ago.

It was around that time that I practically dived into the world of "Spirituality" and first heard about "Wicca". True the term "Wicca", "Pagan", "New Age" and the like aren't exactly completely new. Yet how it drew me in was mind boggling.

First it was the connection and feeling developed when being around Crystals, Dream-catchers, the soothing music played in the shops or stalls and the calming incense burned in the shops that surrounds you. Indeed I sound like a complete newbie, in a way isn't completely far off.

What finally drew me into Tarot and Oracle Cards could not truly be explained as the feeling is different for everyone.

When I finally bought my first deck and used it, I was completely hooked.
Like all things, it takes practice to use and once you do it just feels right.

Though the important thing to me when dealing with this, is that with these cards I'm able to help others in a way I could not before. That is probably one of the few things I am grateful for when I finally decided to reveal myself to others.

What are Tarot, Oracle and Angel Cards?

Despite my interests in these cards... what are they really and where did they really come from ?

When in doubt I looked up these websites:
Based on the websites shared above, the cards originated as mainly playing cards used more or less from the mid-15th century. It seemed popular in various regions in Europe.
In the non- English speaking regions, they were commonly used in playing games and French Tarot rather than for divination purpose, which didn't occur till the late 18th century.

It was different however, in the English speaking regions of Europe where the cards were primarily for divination.

Since then, Tarot cards have gone through quite an Evolution.
With the emergence of Oracle Cards which gained popularity around the 19th Century in France.

The very history and development of Tarot, Oracle and Angel Cards is very fascinating.

However, what fascinates me most is how many variations there are now and how many are using them to help others. Almost every year, I see new decks emerging and each one with its unique features and wisdom to be shared.

As a personal conclusion. There's more to these cards than meets the eye.
Yes, each person would use them different. The cards themselves aren't 'BAD' as some would believe as they're just mainly tools. Tools in general are as 'Good' or as 'Bad' as the person who uses them.

If anyone were to ask me whether or not I would recommend them getting a deck or if I were to get a deck... I would say sure, why not. You won't know until you try.
